I recently added a jewelry magnetic tumbler to my small workshop, and I’m surprised by how much time it saves on polishing tiny parts. I mainly work with silver rings and pendants, and cleaning hard-to-reach corners used to take forever by hand.
The tumbler gives a very even finish, especially inside small settings and textured surfaces where polishing wheels can’t easily reach. I noticed the best results come from using clean stainless steel pins and changing the solution regularly. Dirty liquid seems to reduce the polishing effect quite a bit.
One mistake I made at first was overloading the bowl. When there are too many pieces inside, the movement slows down and the finish becomes inconsistent.
For anyone considering one, I’d say it’s more of a finishing and burnishing tool than a replacement for full polishing work. Still, it has become one of the most useful machines on my bench.
Anyone here using magnetic tumblers for gold jewelry as well?

Hello,

I am eagerly waiting for my ordered CNC-machine from CNC-STEP. I want to try out the Beamicon2 software on a linux machine. (Linux Mint, debian based)

Installation went fine, but when trying to start the application I get this error message:

"Parameter files don't exist or are corrupted, Please re-install the program"

Can someone help me on this issue please?

Ok, forget my remark. I removed it and then reïnstalled it from the command line -as root- and run it as root and it works now!

Hi everyone!

We have a few question about the CNC Machine we have purchased. The interface board of our CNC is NetBob2 6-Axes.

What we want to do is make the machine do the basic job it's programmed for, according to an external digital or analog input.

Namely, after the machine has moved to the specified coordinate and done the requested work, it will wait for an input to advance to the next coordinate.

For this request;

- Which inputs and outputs on the aforementioned card are suitable for this job?

- Is Beamicon2 a open-source software? If it is a open-source software how can we get the source codes? Can we add Scripts to this software?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am a new user of Beamicon which I am using with my first CNC machine. I have an Sorotec Hobbyline XL. I have connected the machine and can control all the motors. The machine homes fine. The problem I have is with loading the NC program. My workpiece is outside of the work area even though I have set the X-Y origins correctly in Fusion.

What can I do about this?
