Beamicon2 (3.24) Linux does not start (Asks for parameter files...)
#1
Hello,

I am eagerly waiting for my ordered CNC-machine from CNC-STEP. I want to try out the Beamicon2 software on a linux machine. (Linux Mint, debian based)

Installation went fine, but when trying to start the application I get this error message:

"Parameter files don't exist or are corrupted, Please re-install the program"

Can someone help me on this issue please?

Ok, forget my remark. I removed it and then reïnstalled it from the command line -as root- and run it as root and it works now!

You must install and run the program as root.
The package is build for debian with lxde gui.
If you use different versions it can be possible, that some depencies are different and/or missing.

Yes, I saw it after I posted the original message, see at the bottom of it. I saw the German explanation, I could make up what I had to do  Big Grin. It starts up now, no errors.

By using Beamicon2 with the zero4 controller of CNC-STEP, I assume the performance of the host running Beamicon2 is not that ciritcal, am I correct? I will install this on a Seeed Studio reTerminal DM, which will be a nice combo with the CNC Machine.

But the Kintec-NC controller dont work with Beamicon!
You can test the Software, but to run the Controller from CNC Step you must switch to Kinetc-NC Software.
